Shane Ellis grew up in Gadsden, Alabama, fishing the waters of Lake Guntersville from a young age. Spending countless days on the lake throughout his childhood, he developed a deep familiarity with every stretch of shoreline, creek channel, grass bed, and contour line that makes Guntersville one of the most famous bass lakes in the country.
Shane earned degrees in Physical Therapy and Biology from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and spent more than 25 years balancing a professional career in physical therapy while competing in bass tournaments and guiding anglers across North Alabama. During that time he built an impressive track record, winning over 50 bass tournaments and logging more than 10,000 hours studying the patterns, structure, and seasonal movements of bass on Lake Guntersville.
Today Shane focuses full time on bass fishing and guiding, helping anglers experience the incredible fishing Lake Guntersville is known for. Few guides know the lake as intimately as Shane, having grown up fishing its waters and continuing to refine his knowledge every time he launches the boat.
Shane has been married to his wife Gala for over 24 years, and they live in Boaz with their cat Thomas and two dogs, Louie and Penny.
